Learning Model

Combine 2–3 engineering themes with multiple domain expertise tracks across college departments for integrative problem-solving.

Degree Awarded

Upon satisfactory completion, the College of Engineering and the Registrar confer the college bachelor’s degree in one of six engineering themes.

📅 AY 115 application period: Jun 8 – 23 (Same schedule as transfer/minor/double-major; subject to annual notice)

Eligibility

  • NTU undergraduates who have completed Year-1 required courses in their home department.
  • Year-1 GPA ≥ 3.3; may apply from Year 2 through the first semester of the final year of study.

Paper submission

  • Application form (one copy)
  • Transcripts including current enrollment and home-department required courses
  • Domain expertise / program / cross-domain course list
  • Counseling session record with advisor
  • Other supporting documents as needed

  • Both online registration and paper submission must be completed by the deadline.
  • Treated like a double major—you cannot hold both statuses simultaneously.
  • Annual quota: 40 students (max. 10 from outside the college).

High-tech facilities, advanced manufacturing, mechatronics, intelligent manufacturing.

Multi-scale Mechatronics

Solid mechanics, mechanism design, opto-mechatronics, measurement practice.

D

Intelligent Engineering

Smart built environment, mechanism analysis, data science, AI applications.

E

Ocean & Land Engineering

Ocean, civil, environmental, and infrastructure-related expertise.

F

Advanced Materials & Chemistry

Materials, chemical engineering, polymers, and semiconductor/opto modules.

2 Complete at least one full domain expertise within chosen themes.
3 At most one domain expertise from your home department (any theme).
4 At least 48 credits total; duplicate courses cannot be double-counted.
