Faculty and Students

The College of Engineering at National Taiwan University (NTU) is distinguished by its outstanding faculty and strong academic foundation. The College currently employs 267 full-time faculty members, including 184 Professors, 54 Associate Professors, 28 Assistant Professors, and 1 Lecturer. All faculty members hold doctoral degrees, with many having received their highest academic training from leading universities in the United States, Europe, Japan, and other internationally renowned institutions. Their expertise, global perspectives, and dedication to excellence have established NTU College of Engineering as a cornerstone of engineering education and technological innovation in Taiwan.

In research, the College has consistently maintained a leading position among engineering institutions nationwide. Its faculty members have achieved remarkable success in advancing scientific knowledge and technological development. To date, College faculty have received a cumulative total of 175 National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) Distinguished Research Awards and 40 appointments as NSTC Distinguished Research Fellows, reflecting their exceptional research capabilities and international academic influence. Furthermore, among NTU’s 333 Distinguished Professors, 48 are affiliated with the College of Engineering, underscoring the College’s prominence within the University and the broader academic community.

Faculty members of the College have also earned numerous prestigious national and international honors. Professor Chia-Wen Wu and Professor Chu-Chen Chueh of the Department of Chemical Engineering have been recognized as ISI Highly Cited Researchers. Professor Fa-Lin Chen of the Institute of Applied Mechanics, Professor Wen-Chang Chen of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Professor Keh-Chyuan Tsai of the Department of Civil Engineering have each received both the Ministry of Education National Chair Professorship and Academic Award. In addition, Professor Huan-Chang Ge of the Department of Chemical Engineering has been honored with the Ministry of Education Academic Award. These achievements demonstrate the College’s depth of academic excellence and its significant impact on the global research community.
